Is a computer sound card output og?

i am trying to understand this because my home theater receiver will allow you to redirect 2 of the 7.1 speakers and set up a second zone so that they can work with another audio source separately. but they only work with og sources. i have a quarter inch jack in my very old sound blaster sound card and then red/white rca cables going into my receiver. that makes me think it is og, unless of course i need rca cables on both ends? it isn't currently working, which makes me believe both ends need to be rca cables, but then again i could just be doing something wrong. thanks for any help!
